Chicago Fire – Chicago Med – Chicago PD ‘cast’ some puppies in fantastic fashion
In the video below, you can see Jesse Lee Soffer (Halstead), Miranda Rae Mayo (Stella), Jason Beghe (Voight), and Yaya DaCosta (April) take part in a puppy casting session for One Chicago — while it’s hard to say if any actual puppies are coming onto the shows this season, this video is still equal parts adorable and also hilarious as the actors put some of the puppies through their paces. Take, for example, Soffer roasting Patrick John Flueger by noting that the puppy can bring a youthful energy that Ruzek doesn’t have anymore. Meanwhile, Mayo seems to be playing the tough Hollywood producer of the group, DaCosta is going for a straight up eye-to-eye interrogation, and there’s one line in particular that Beghe gives as Voight that is genuinely laugh-out-loud. We don’t want to ruin it in this article, so we suggest you take a peek for yourself.
In the end, consider this a rare bit of lightness and fun for a series of shows that can sometimes be very dark and emotional. We know that Chicago Fire will be starting with a sad reminder that Monica Raymund isn’t on the show anymore, and Chicago PD will probably still be forced to deal with the aftermath of Olinsky’s death. Anytime you’re feeling too sad while getting into these shows, we suggest that you just watch this video. Puppies make everything better.

Rather hilariously, this is the closest thing that we’ve gotten in terms of video footage to date for any of these shows. We know that they are all premiering on NBC come Wednesday, September 26, and the second week of the season is going to be a crossover event that encompasses all three of them. Fingers crossed that puppies are involved! We know that CarterMatt CEO Coco Chanel Vanderwoof is hoping that one or two of them join the cast.
