The Sinner season 2 episode 4 preview: Ambrose returns to Mosswood

Want to know what lies ahead on The Sinner season 2 episode 4? Well, the quickest way to kick things off is simply by saying this: Ambrose isn’t letting Mosswood go. This commune is where Vera and Julian lived, and there are clearly some secrets that are buried deep there. They could tie into what happened to Adam and Bess, and also so much more than that. The problem we foresee here is that this is not a community that is particularly receptive to strangers. We don’t feel altogether optimistic that anyone is going to be altogether keen to listen to what Ambrose has to say or answer questions honestly. Still, Harry is going to try, and if he can’t get through to some of them, he’s going to try his best to get through to Vera.

Ambrose returns to Mosswood to confront Vera about the commune’s work.

The only thing that’s notable about this is that Ambrose is treating the return to Mosswood as a big deal, and not just something routine. He has a very specific intent to being there and this is something that could be fleshed out even further as the story goes along. There are secrets about this place that we almost certainly do not know at present, and could be pieced together a little bit more over time.

Ultimately, though, we do think that the answers to this case are not going to come via one particular person or one specific place — we imagine that it’s going to be much more like a patchwork quilt, one where Ambrose needs to interact with many different sources to start to get the answers he so seeks.
