America’s Got Talent Dunkin’ Save returns: Mochi, Flau’jae, Lord Nil possibilities
So who are the contenders for the Save, who is likely safe, and who is almost certainly going home? Let’s figure this out in this particular results preview now. As a reminder, you can read our full review of Tuesday’s show over here and also check out our video below for more thoughts — subscribe for more videos and check out our America’s Got Talent playlist!
Likely Safe
Courtney Hadwin – She entered the first performance show as the favorite, and also has a Golden Buzzer. It’s hard to imagine her being anywhere other than the top of the leaderboard.
Shin Lim – America has been shown to love magicians and when it comes to close-up magic, nobody is really better.
Amanda Mena – While we think that there are some things in terms of staging that could’ve been stronger, there is no denying her voice.
We Three – While personally we were a little underwhelmed by the song this time, America has shown to love singing acts and also emotional stories. They have both.
Likely Going Home
Human Fountains – It’s gross and was mostly just brought on the live shows for variety. It’s hard to imagine them getting another chance to move forward.
PAC Dance Team – We thought that their internet fans would help them, but their performance last night just wasn’t good enough to be able to compete with anyone else.
In contention
Mochi – He was actually one of the best performers of the night, but he may be hurt by kicking off the show. That’s why it’s hard to get a great read on him.
Vicki Barbolak – We wouldn’t be shocked if she is in fifth place in the vote and is the last act for-sure safe without the help of the Dunkin’ Save or the judges. We didn’t love her act last night (felt too much like a pitch rather than a routine), but some may disagree.
Junior New System – They are probably deserving of a spot, but we’re just not sure that their brand of dance is mainstream enough.
Lord Nil – We almost put him as “likely going home” just because Mel B really sapped the momentum out of what he did. If he does go, we hope that he gets to be a wild card for semifinals.
Flau’jae – She did a great job last night, but it’s too hard to know whether or not the AGT audience will embrace hip-hop.
Angel City Chorale – We think they probably will make it moving forward, but we didn’t think this past performance was their best.
