2018 TCAs: Shadowhunters star Katherine McNamara, Matthew Daddario, more arrive
The 2018 Teen Choice Awards are airing tonight on Fox and leading up to it, we of course had high hopes for the Shadowhunters cast! The gang was up for a number of different awards, and we’re hoping that this gives them a promotional platform to celebrate the show … and also help to encourage people to check out the twelve remaining episodes on Freeform early next year.
If you look below, you can see on the show’s red carpet a number of different stars, whether it be Katherine McNamara (Clary), Emeraude Toubia (Izzy), Alberto Rosende (Simon), Harry Shum Jr. (Magnus), Dominic Sherwood (Jace), Matthew Daddario (Alec), and Anna Hopkins (Lilith). Hopefully, they all have a moment in the sun tonight — our biggest concern going into the show is that despite so many of them showing up, it still won’t end up getting anywhere near the credit or attention that it deserves.
Unfortunately, earlier this weekend we reported that the show’s production company Constantin Film does not appear to be moving forward with plans to save the show (for now); that is what makes awards shows like this more important. If this brings enough attention to Shadowhunters, then maybe an interested party pops up and some buzz starts up again.
If you do want to see a little more discussion on the subject of both the series and the future, just be sure to check out the video below and subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more. We also have a playlist all about the series!
Regardless of anything that happens in the future, though, tonight should be seen as a celebration and we hope that’s what everyone views it as. The past few months have been tiring and exhausting for so many fans, cast, and crew members alike. Everyone deserves a chance to just kick back and celebrate many of the awesome things that have happened because of the show.
