Yellowstone episode 8 preview: ‘The Unraveling’ begins; what’s next?

Yellowstone episode 8 is going to be coming up on the Paramount Network in one week’s time and based on everything that’s out there, we are gearing up for the beginning of the end — at least for this season. “The Unraveling, Part 1” is the name for this episode, and that gives you a pretty big sense as to some of the trouble that is coming. John is about to learn who is true friends are, while at the same time it appears as though the future of many different characters are on the line. Rip could end up behind bars by the end of this season, while at the same time it’s certainly possible that Jamie finds himself in misery.

A sheriff’s investigation turns the heat up on Rip. Jamie makes a bold decision about his future and faces the consequences. With the walls closing in, John discovers which family and allies will stand with him and fight.

While the walls may be closing in, at the same time we don’t think that they are completely in ruins by the end of this episode. Whatever happens over the course of this hour is going to bleed into Part 2, which poses the challenge of finding the right way in which to wrap up some of these stories.

Given that there is a season 2 coming down the line, we at least know that there is no reason to worry. Thanks to its storytelling and great cast (who knew we’d ever get a chance to see Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilly on the same series!), we have every reason to believe that this series is going to be sticking around for some time even after season 2 if everyone involved wants to see it continue.
