Take Two episode 8 preview: Sam’s child-star past comes back

Next week, Take Two episode 8 is going to be coming on the air and with that, it will be taking a different look at Sam Swift’s past.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen the show explore some of Sam’s life as the star of Hot Suspect and some of the highs and lows she experienced there. We do think that there is a lot of interesting material still to mine from that — hey, there has to be a lot of interesting stuff that comes with being a part of a scripted show (even a fake one) for that long. Yet, we do think that “All About Ava” next week will be interesting as he take a peek behind the curtain into what Sam’s life was like well before ever nailing down a role on the job that made her an enormous star.

Sam takes an unexpected journey into her past when she and Eddie are called on to investigate the seemingly accidental death of Ava Day, star of the ‘90s sitcom “All About Ava,” which featured a 12-year-old Sam in her acting debut as Ava’s little sister. But when the investigation uncovers dark truths about past events, Sam is forced to reconcile her childhood impressions with newly found facts in order to crack the case.

It actually does feel like there’s going to be a little sadness to this story given that, at least at some point in her life, Ava and Sam had to have some sort of close relationship with each other. Given Sam’s problems with addiction, we also do think that there has to be a feeling here that she recognizes that something terrible have happened to her had things gone a different route.
