Criminal Minds season 14 episode 2 title: ‘Starter Home’ talk
Per a new post on Twitter via executive producer Harry Bring (see below), the title for season 14 episode 2 (which is in pre-production) is “Starter Home.” It’s being written by Bruce Zimmerman, who has penned episodes for the show since 2011 including ones like “True North” and “The Dance of Love.” (Zimmerman is also a co-executive producer.) The director is Diana C. Valentine, who has helmed multiple episodes of both this show (“All You Can Eat” is a recent one) alongside installments of NCIS: Los Angeles.
So what does the title in “Starter Home” mean? It does bring to mind the idea of someone just starting out and making their name in the world. A “Starter Home,” after all, is typically a place for someone just getting into homeowning for the first time. There’s an innocence about the name for the episode, but the irony here remains that sooner or later, someone is going to kick over that innocence and all hell is going to break loose. Many episodes of Criminal Minds — or really all of them, given the premise of the show — have something dark brewing underneath the surface. We have a hard time imagining that this one is any different.
One of the biggest challenges we foresee in advance for Criminal Minds season 14 episode 2 is simply a matter of keeping the momentum going. After all, we’re writing about an episode here that could be directly following up both the premiere and the 300th episode as a whole, which is an extremely tall order for any show to try and live to. We’re sure that they are figuring out ways to do that, mostly because the Criminal Minds team is probably pretty experienced at this point at moving forward after big episodes.
