Outlander notes: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe on costume Emmy nod; Graham McTavish’s announcement

Happy Friday, everyone! We’re back with another edition of Outlander notes, and today, we’re going to kick things off by focusing on the big news from yesterday: The show’s Emmy nomination for Outstanding Period Costumes. Terry Dresbach and the team are some of the best in the business, and while of course it would’ve been great to see more nods for the show, it’s wonderful that the costuming department get this sort of recognition.

With that, we’re also thrilled to see so many different cast members extend their congratulations. Check out some assorted reactions below. Meanwhile, you can also see what Dresbach herself had to say from the official Outlander Costume account.

We should find out whether or not Outlander wins the Emmy prior to the main ceremony at the Creative Arts event. Once there is a little more news out there on that particular subject, we will be sure to let you know. Remember also that season 4 premieres this fall on Starz, and there are going to be many more incredible costumes presented in that, as well!

Graham McTavish’s secret announcement

Just in case you want something else to be excited about, consider this! McTavish, who of course remains beloved by plenty of Outlander fans, promised that an “exciting bit of news” will be coming our way presumably later today. It’s obviously too early to know what this news is going to be, but one way or another, we remain psyched to find out. (In addition to the shows mentioned, you may also know McTavish for some of his work on Preacher.)
