Hawaii Five-0 season 9 filming is right around the corner
Next week, the cast is going to receive their traditional Hawaiian blessing, which is the way in which every season of production kicks off in the islands. It’s a chance for everyone to congregate and get centered right before things get crazy and super-intense for the bulk of the rest of the year. We anticipate another high-octane season that is stuffed full of everything that you would want to see from the series, whether it be action sequences, solid mysteries, and of course humorous moments with many of the different characters. After being without a good Steve – Danny argument for most of the season, it makes some sense that we get one of those fairly early on in the new season!
Production is kicking off more than two months before the ninth season is slated to premiere on CBS, but producers need that time in order to get a lot of footage in the can so that the editing team and everyone else can work on putting these episodes together. Given that this show makes somewhere between 22 and 25 episodes a season, they need every single day possible before the season finale is set to air in May.
Publicly, there hasn’t been a whole lot said about any major changes to season 9. With that, we’re hoping that we will see the entirety of the season 8 cast back with hopefully some great guest stars along the way. There’s not much of a need to shake things up here, especially with Meaghan Rath and Beulah Koale being such excellent new additions from the time of their arrival last year.
While you do wait for the official start of filming, we suggest that you head over to the link here to see some of our ongoing season 9 spotlights! There’s a new one posted every Friday.
