Instinct season 2 premiere date hopes for Alan Cumming, cast
First and foremost, we should kick things off here with a reminder that the series is, in fact, coming back for another season! We’re thrilled with the announcement, and we’re also happy it came before the ratings started to slide the past few weeks. While we’re glad to see the show coming back, at the same time CBS didn’t do the series many favors over the past few months. First and foremost, it premiered in a difficult timeslot — one that had already doomed another series this year in Wisdom of the Crowd. Also, it’s aired now for many weeks without much support in terms of other shows on the night. That included CBS airing two episodes the day before Memorial Day, traditionally a terrible day for programming since viewers are off doing other things.
So when will Instinct season 2 premiere after all of this? The show is not on the CBS fall schedule and because of that, the safe bet at the moment is that the series is coming once more in the spring. If not then, we wouldn’t be altogether shocked if the show shifts over to a summer premiere, mostly because the network needs some programming to fill some of their holes there. We especially think that there is a need for some great crime-procedural programming in that spot and Instinct should be a great fit. You’ve got a formula that feels familiar, but at the same time a lead in Alan Cumming who is captivating and charismatic.
Hopefully, the network will confirm their plans for Instinct season 2 come later this fall as the midseason schedule starts to become a little bit clearer. We’d like to see it stick around until season 3, if at all possible. It just needs a little more love an opportunity to reach a larger pool of viewers.
