Poldark season 4 episode 2 expectations for Ross, Demelza, and others
For much of the premiere this past weekend, we saw Ross Poldark struggling with the fact that there were still so many issues between him and his wife over a wide array of different things, whether it be his supposed feelings for Elizabeth or her supposed feelings for Hugh Armitage. The two had these shadows lurking in the background of their marriage for some time, and it is starting to now feel like these demons are being exorcised. Ross has told her of the feelings that are in his heart for her, and Demelza seems to have accepted them. This offers up an opportunity for these characters to move forward into the next phase, though it is clear that both Elizabeth and Hugh are both still around.
For Hugh in particular, his declining health (which he insinuated may be due to heartbreak) could end up having a very important role when it comes to Ross’ own political future. In the wake of what he did to save Sam and Drake on this past installment, be prepared for arguably the most political episode of the series for Aidan Turner’s character as he seems more and more the prime candidate for election. He’s a capable leader and there could be many people who turn out to be on his side. You know who is not? George Warleggan — that much is abundantly clear!
As for some other characters in this episode, be prepared to see some big movement for Dwight and Caroline now that they are entering the role of expecting parents? Obviously, we’d love to throw them a celebration party, but by no means does pregnancy equal instant happiness. There are many bumps in the road ahead for the two and it could lead to some devastating outcomes.
Finally, be prepared for one of the most romantic storylines that we’ve seen for Sam Carne to date as he sees an opportunity to try and win over the heart of Emma. Fingers crossed that his love story ends with a much happier outcome than what’s happened with his brother Drake and Morwenna over the past year or so.
