Shades of Blue season 3: Jennifer Lopez on decision to end series
With that being said, we also know that this is going to be the final batch of episodes for the series. Jennifer Lopez and the rest of the cast are saying goodbye to these characters after a number of years of hard work, and based on what Lopez herself told TVInsider, this was not a choice that she made lightly:
“It was a hard decision and I was melancholy the day we announced it. I wish I could do it for seven years, but I can’t with everything else going on.
“I did both Shades and my Vegas show [All I Have, her residency concert at Planet Hollywood] for three years. My kids are 10. That’s a big consideration for me. We put things on hold in life. We’re like, “OK, we can do this! We’ll push that there, push this here.” But we can’t.”
One other thing that Lopez doesn’t even reference in here is World of Dance, which she is also doing for NBC. We assumed eventually that things would start to catch up to her and that has now happened — but, in the interim, hasn’t this been an entertaining run? Sometimes, shows do not have to last an extremely long period of time in order to make an impact. We like to think that this is one of those particular occasions.
For those wondering, the Shades of Blue season 3 premiere will address many of the questions from the cliffhanger, and following that send the characters down what should be an exciting road with another mystery at the center of it.
