Vera season 9 filming begans; former Doctor Who star to appear

For those of you who are already excited about the prospects of a Vera season 9, the following news should be worthy of at least some celebration: Filming is now officially underway!

In a new post on the show’s official Twitter account, the good news insofar as filming goes was finally confirmed. new episodes are slated to air at some point in 2019 and should fit very much the mold that we have come to expect from this series over the years. There are few mystery shows that do manage to deliver the same overall level of quality and beyond that, few that excel quite as much in terms of delivering smart stories. This is one of those series where you really don’t want to know too much in advance, largely because you would then run the risk of having something important spoiled. The longer that certain things can be kept under wraps, in the end the better that it probably is for everyone.

There is one thing that we can go ahead and tell you in regards to casting — there will be a former Doctor Who star taking part in the show coming up! According to What’s On TV, Peter Davison is going to be appearing within the first episode of the new season. If you love good, nostalgic television, you may warm your heart to see him. There’s something rather nostalgic overall that comes with a show like Vera — while there may be some modern sensibilities when it comes to the stories, they also do adopt a feel that is very much classic. These are episodes that should be able to be enjoyed properly both now and also probably many years from now.
