Shadowhunters season 3 episode 9 and 10 preview: Midseason finale
Below, the Shadowhunters synopses offer up some more insight when it comes to these two episodes, coupled with how the story could conclude for now.
Season 3 episode 9, 8:00 p.m. Eastern – “Clary faces down an old foe in an attempt to find answers about Lilith’s plan. Alec and Magnus turn to Lorenzo Rey for help, while Lilith finds a new ally. Luke must choose between his pack and his family, as Simon is forced to deal with his past. (Guest starring Anna Hopkins, Chai Hansen and Javier Muñoz)”
Season 3 episode 10, 9:00 p.m. Eastern – “In the climactic mid-season finale, the team scrambles to find a way to put a stop to Lilith’s plan coming to fruition. But going up against their biggest opponent yet, their odds are not looking good. Meanwhile, Simon makes a heartbreaking choice with Isabelle’s help and Magnus reconnects with a powerful person from his past. (Guest starring Anna Hopkins, Jack Yang, Alexandra Ordolis and Nicola Correia-Damude)”
Is Lilith actually going to be taken down in these two episodes? It’s a little too early to say that just because we’re talking about one of the most dangerous foes that we’ve ever seen the Institute take on. Not only is Lilith incredibly powerful, but she’s also smart and understands these characters. We wouldn’t be altogether shocked if we end up finding a way to see this character take center stage once more in the second half of the season.
Those two synopses do give a lot of information away and there are some cool things in them — for starters, we get more of Javier and we also have a chance to see some devastating material for Simon and some other notable characters.
Final thought: Is Magnus going to be paying his father a visit by the end of these episodes?
