Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 22 preview: The search for Alex’s mom

Grey's Anatomy season 14 episode 22

Want to know what’s coming on Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 22? We’re getting set for one of the most emotional episodes of the season just from the vantage point of the search for Alex’s mom.

On tonight’s installment, Justin Chambers’ realized for the first time that there was a huge problem: His mother, who struggles with her mental health, has not been using the money that he’s been sending to her. With that, he worries that she is either dead, homeless, or in some other terrible position. Expect a fantastic performance from both Chambers and also Camilla Luddington, as Jo is also going to be making the trip out. (If you missed some of the news on the subject, Lindsay Wagner of Bionic Woman is going to be playing the character.)

Below, the Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 22 synopsis offers up some other news when it comes to what lies ahead:

Alex and Jo go on a road trip to Iowa to find Alex’s mom, whom he hasn’t heard from in a very long time. Meanwhile, Meredith gives a presentation on her mini-livers project, which attracts a ton of attention; and Jackson works to rebuild the foundation after its reputation is threatened.

Obviously, seeing Jackson trying to rebuild the foundation should make for some super-solid, super-compelling television. How could it not? It’s a story of redemption after some of the terrible actions of his grandfather and there is something innately fascinating about watching a redemption story of this sort play out. Meanwhile, for Meredith she has a real opportunity to move things along with her project; it could change the world of modern medicine and we hope that this actually does work out for her. (We don’t want Harper Avery to taint her project.)
