Scorpion season 5, Criminal Minds season 14 renewal status still unclear
Earlier today, CBS officially renewed a number of different shows, including NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, and many others.
For the sake of this article, CarterMatt wants to focus on some of the shows that are still in waiting to learn about their future at the network and ones that fans have been pretty nervous about.
Criminal Minds – It’s not strange for it to still be up in the air at present, due to negotiations between CBS and ABC Studios that tend to go until May more often than not. There are already plans for there to be more episodes of the show from a production standpoint and we’re reasonably optimistic.
Scorpion – We’re a little more lukewarm about this series’ chances. CBS is struggling on Mondays and there’s a chance there could be a complete overhaul. We also wouldn’t be shocked if there was a push to make Scorpion into a summer show if it returns.
Instinct – It’s already had some ups and downs but there’s still a chance at a renewal, depending on how the rest of the season goes.
Wisdom of the Crowd – It’s more or less dead.
Code Black and Elementary – Neither have premiered as of yet; we’re not incredibly optimistic but if they impress over the summer, there is a small chance for more episodes later.
Man with a Plan, Kevin Can Wait, Superior Donuts, and Life in Pieces – Out of the comedies currently on CBS these are the ones with a good chance of coming back. Kevin Can Wait is the one we’re the most confident in but we wouldn’t be shocked if CBS makes some bold changes to Monday nights with their comedies floundering and Murphy Brown on the way.
