Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 17 (finale) spoilers: Rafael’s secret

Are you ready for Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 17 to air on The CW? This episode is coming up in one week’s time and based on some of the information we now have, many signs point towards this being a pretty exciting, dramatic chapter of the journey … and also one that will probably also produce a pretty big cliffhanger. One of the big things that we’ve come to know about this series over time is that it’s rather good at creating endings that have your jaw on the ground and leave you wondering about what’s coming up next. This episode, more than likely, is just going to continue that trend.

Below, the Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 17 synopsis gives you a pretty good sense as to what is coming up, at least when it comes to the story:

SEASON FINALE – Jane (Gina Rodriguez) believes she and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) are in a good place until she realizes he is keeping a secret from her. Alba’s (Ivonne Coll) big day has finally arrived, and Jane, Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) are ready to celebrate but Alba has other plans. Petra (Yael Grobglas) and JR (guest star Rosario Dawson) make a decision about their future that neither of them saw coming. Meanwhile, River (guest star Brooke Shields) spends the week with Rogelio in order to help them be believable as a married couple, but she soon starts to take her role too seriously. Jennie Snyder Urman & Paul Sciarrotta directed the episode written by Gina Lamar (#417). Original airdate 4/20/2018.

Just because of it being the finale, you know that there are going to be higher stakes for Petra, Jane, Rogelio, and others. Yet, that is probably amplified further by the talk that the recently-renewed season 5 could be the final one for the series. This means that much of the cast and crew may need to start preparing for the home stretch and what will hopefully be a perfect way to close the story off. We do want to see many of these characters happy — while there will obviously be problems, hopefully along the way they will find solutions to them.
