911 season 2 premiere date expectations for Fox drama
Let’s start first and foremost with this: There is for certain going to be a 911 season 2. Fox already issued that renewal earlier this year on the heels of this being one of the most successful series launches since Empire. This is a show that already has a devoted following and they’re going to want to see more of the show sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately, the bad news is this: There is no official episode count at the moment for season 2, which means that we could be dealing with an order as short as ten again … but we wouldn’t count on that. On the heels of the first season’s success we feel like it’s more likely that we’re going to get at least 13 episodes for the new season if not more.
The next struggle is trying to figure out the right time in which to premiere the show. You can make the argument that keeping the show on in January through March is the right move, but the problem there is quite simple: You’re expecting a lot of your viewers to have to wait another ten or so months to see more of the show. Yet, there’s also not that much real estate available in the fall. Fox isn’t changing its Sunday lineup for an hour-long series and based on their Thursday Night Football acquisition signs seem to point to them not programming that night at all until the new year. Fox wouldn’t put a show this successful on Fridays so really they’ve only got three nights to think about: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Suffice it to say, they’ve got some tough decisions to make.
Ultimately, though, know this: Fox loves this series, and clearly they are going to do just about everything in their power to get more of it on the air. It’s just a matter of figuring out the right time to make it happen.
