Four reasons to make a Lucifer season 4 renewal happen

Lucifer season 4

We’re starting to move forward into the home stretch of Lucifer season 3 and with that in mind, doesn’t now seem to be the right time to start the season 4 renewal push?

At the moment, this is a show that needs as much love as it can get. The ratings have dropped over the past few weeks, but the quality remains every bit as strong as ever. Not only that, but Lucifer harbors some of the most passionate fans on TV. It’s funny, engaging, dramatic, and features Tom Ellis singing on a fairly regular basis. Basically, there is a lot of great stuff happening almost constantly with this show.

Technically, Fox has until May in order to renew it for a fourth season, but while we wait for them to make their decision the time seems right to give them a few reasons to swing this decision in our favor. Here are four simple reasons to go ahead and order that season 4 pickup.

1. Inch the show closer to syndication – Because of a shortened first season it is probably going to take until season 5 to get Lucifer to the point where repeats can be shown off-network. Yet, this is the perfect show to be monetized that way since you don’t need to watch every episode sequentially to know what’s going on.

2. There are few other shows quite like it – The comedic cop-show drama is a genre that has faded a little bit over the years, especially with shows like Castle, Psych, and Rizzoli & Isles coming off the air. Lucifer has some of the soul of those shows with the mythology of a comic-book show mixed in. You want unicorns on your schedule and Lucifer is clearly that.

3. There are clearly more stories to tell – For starters, we’re missing out on the opportunity to watch a full-fledged relationship between Lucifer and Chloe — this is a plot worthy of a full season on its own. That’s without even mentioning a great arc for Amenadiel or seeing what other guest stars you can get back. (We’re hoping to see Timothy Omundson back during season 4.)

4. It’ll make everyone that much more relaxed – Let’s face it — there are already big cliffhangers and plenty of drama on Lucifer itself. You don’t also need to throw on top of that for viewers anxiety as to whether or not the show will be coming back.
