Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 17: Could a patient cure April of her crisis?

April’s downward spiral is a story that has dominated some of Grey’s Anatomy as of late, and judging from what we know now it is going to remain a factor in the series until at least we get around to the 17th episode of the season. This episode, entitled “One Day Like this,” could offer up a chance for the character to turn things around. Not only that, but this could also offer up an opportunity for her to find a catalyst for change in the form of a patient. This could prove interesting given that it was losing patients in the first place that first caused her life to start to fall apart.

Below, the Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 17 synopsis (per SpoilerTV) offers up a little more in the way of insight regarding what is coming within this episode:

April’s crisis of faith is challenged by a patient; Meredith treats a patient who is a transplant surgeon from another hospital.

As we move along within this episode we’re hoping that there are going to be some sort of movement; at the very least, the hope is that we are going to see the series head down a road in which April starts to discover some of her old self. Maybe she’s not healed altogether, but at the same time how many people are? This is a process that for so many people out there takes a substantial amount of time in order to figure out.

With Drew departing the series alongside Jessica Capshaw at the end of the season, there does need to be a newfound sense of urgency that maybe was not there before in order to properly wrap some of these stories up. That is where so much of the concern comes from with the current trajectory of her story. It’s not charting altogether well at the moment and there does need to be a few moments here and there where this starts to change.
