Roseanne season 10 opening pays homage to original series
The opening can be seen below (via TVLine), and it remains just about as relatable as you could possibly imagine to most families that are out there. There’s takeout food, family, and everyone seemingly having a pretty good time. At the end of the episode you hear Roseanne’s signature laugh and it’s a reminder that this is very much the same show that you remember from so many years back. The only difference now is obviously that the world is different — and of course, so are many of the actors and the characters.
The Roseanne revival returns to ABC this month, and when this opening actually airs the names of the performs will be added to it. This is going to be one of the more interesting ratings tests of the past few years. After all, we are speaking here about a series catering to a very different crowd than most other shows out there and it features someone in Roseanne Barr who is certainly outspoken politically in a different way than many other actors. We live in a world now where it is becoming increasingly hard to separate actors from the characters that they play and the fiction that their stories tell; in the end, will this help or hurt the series? To go along with all of that, is there still a thirst out there for traditional sitcoms? Will & Grace got off to a great start, but has since slid in the ratings. The Big Bang Theory is the only enormous multi-camera sitcom out there right now.
