Select Outlander conventions becoming even more immersive — here’s how so

Outlander season 4

There are a number of Outlander conventions coming this summer, and it appears as though you’re going to have a chance to see some of them be even more immersive and interactive than ever before.

On Friday, Creation Entertainment (a leader in many conventions all over the world) confirmed that they are now partnering with the show’s studio in Sony Pictures TV in order to create even broader fan experiences at two different conventions this summer: One in Las Vegas this July, and then also one in New Jersey in August. (You can see more details within the tweet below.) “Immersive experiences” can be a wide array of different things, but working with the studio behind the show directly likely means more access to all sorts of great stuff related to the series behind the scenes. It offers up more opportunities for fans to become involved with Outlander and, in turn, helps create more confidence that the convention will be a great one. If Sony is signing off on it, they wouldn’t want it any other way.

In a statement, Adam Malin, the co-founder of Creation Entertainment, had the following to say about the partnership:

“We’ve known and admired Ron Moore since the very start of his career, and watched his work through the decades with admiration, wonder and pride. With the beautiful storytelling and production of Outlander, set against the glorious and worldly saga that Diana Gabaldon has created, Ron and his amazing team have truly built a series that stands the test of time, and we couldn’t be more honored to bring the stars of this series to our fellow fans in a theatrical, highly produced and fan friendly manner. By dedicating these events solely to Outlander, we’ve been able to provide a total immersion into the production we are honoring, while also allowing for far more fan/celebrity interaction. The Official Outlander Conventions follow in the tradition of our almost 50 year old career working with properties including Star Trek, Star Wars, Xena, The X-Files, Twilight, Vampire Diaries, The Muppets, Terminator, Supernatural, Stargate and so many other popular culture icons.”

This is certainly great news for Outlander fans hoping to attend some of these conventions and we hope that it will lead to some more coming up in the future. We would love to see some more Outlander conventions in the midwest for fans who haven’t had too many opportunities to take part in fun show experiences there. Of course, we’d also be happy to see more in Canada.

Speaking of Canada…

In the latest of our weekly Outlander videos (we sometimes post more than one a week, but we’re angling to do one every Friday), you can see us below discussing the recent Outlander casting call north of the border plus also Scotland’s enormous snowstorm.
