Falling Water season 2 ratings: How is USA series faring?
So, how is it ultimately faring within this new timeslot? At the moment, it’s about what we expected through three episodes — the ratings aren’t great, but at the same time they weren’t altogether great for the first season, either.
Per TV Series Finale, at present season 2 is averaging a 0.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic as well as 350,000 viewers — that is through three episodes, which does not include the latest installment tonight. The silver lining here is that the show is only down around 33% in the demo, which is probably not as bad as it could have been when you consider the time change. The majority of the viewers who watched season 1 are still sticking with the show, but that may still not be enough to get it a season 3. We’re not exactly sure if USA was expecting significant gains on Saturday night — or, why they chose to order the show if they were just going to go ahead and bury it in the first place. There are just some things we don’t quite understand when it comes to programming strategy sometimes.
Can you argue that USA was trying to create a new avenue for the show on Saturdays, one where it wouldn’t have any competition and it could stand on its own? Sure, but it needed more of a lineup around it to make that work. As of late, AMC and Starz are the only networks who have found some success programming on the night — and it hasn’t even worked in total for them.
Hopefully, we will have a chance to share some more news when it comes to Falling Water ratings in the near future.
