Jersey Shore Family Vacation filming taking place in Miami

Jersey Shore Family Vacation filming is now officially underway, and with that CarterMatt now also knows the location: Miami. This news was confirmed recently, and what this means is that the big reunion show is going to end up being very similar in some ways to season 2. That season marked the first time you saw some of the cast away from the familiar location of Seaside Heights, New Jersey — and it also just so happened to be the last time that Angelina Pivarnick was a part of the show.

Here’s the question that we do wonder — is a Jersey Shore reunion in Miami really a reunion if Angelina isn’t there? Maybe that’s a controversial take but it’s something that we’re thinking about at the moment.

As of right now, the cast members slated to be in attendance for the new series include Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, DJ Pauly D, Deena Cortese, Ronnie Magro, and Vinny Guadagnino. Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola has opted to not be a part of the new project, and we imagine that much of that could have to do with the history she and Ronnie have — it’s hard to say for certain, though, given that she hasn’t commented on why she doesn’t want to be a part of the show. The one thing that surprises us slightly here is that Sammi seems to be using her social media a lot now for promotional purposes, and this could have been a fairly easy way in which to continue to do that more effectively.

Jersey Shore Family Vacation will premiere later this summer, and we imagine that this new series is going to touch heavily on some of the cast members being parents or enjoying different parts of their lives. There is a little bit of darkness in here, though, given that The Situation is facing potential jail time in New Jersey. He has been given approval to film in Miami, and we have to think that this is going to be a part of his story somehow.
