Last Week Tonight with John Oliver 2018 return date

When is the Last Week Tonight with John Oliver 2018 return date? We understand having that question, mostly because there really isn’t all that much information that is out there on the subject right now. The return of Oliver’s fantastic series hasn’t really been all that well-promoted, and that’s a shame because it’s probably one of the shows the majority of viewers out there miss.

Let’s put things for you this way: Wouldn’t it be great tonight to have a segment regarding the government shutdown, a certain adult star named Stormy, or a complete takedown of many of the men accused of sexual misconduct? The closest thing that we’ve had to that so far is John Oliver doing his best to take on Dustin Hoffman during a film panel last year, but that is hardly the same thing. Oliver’s show is smart, well-researched, and contains many interesting debates … it’s for these reasons why we have such long hiatuses. It is a very intensive show for the staff to work on when it’s airing, so these are one of the few times everyone could catch their breath.

Granted, we imagine that when Last Week Tonight was first conceived it was in an era where there wasn’t some sort of absolutely-insane story almost every hour. We’re in an era at this point where there really is no break and one insane story bleeds right into the next.

Here’s what may make you feel (somewhat) better: The Last Week Tonight with John Oliver 2018 return date is happening over the course of the next month. You are going to be seeing the series return to HBO on Sunday, February 18 — clearly, the series doesn’t want to premiere opposite either the Super Bowl on February 4 or the first Sunday of the Winter Olympics the following week. This is one of the few breaks in the Sunday programming action and it will have a couple of shows before the Oscars arrive on March 4.
