Ink Master season 10: Why Lil’ D’s beard, tattoos help him stand out
Often times on singing competitions you’ve got the contestant who’s been in the game for a good 15-20 years who somehow never had a break in the process. Lil’ D is the Ink Master version of that. He’s been running in the tattoo game since the 1990’s, and while he’s produced great work in that time he hasn’t had this chance. He’s done a lot of hardcore off-the-street tattoos. He’s worked in the shop and taken on more clients than almost anyone.
If there’s a style he’s tasked to do on Ink Master season 10, the good news for Lil’ D is that he’s probably done it at some point. He’s a well-rounded artist just because of experience alone. Does this always mean that there could be bad habits? Sure, but we haven’t seen all that much of these over the one episode we’ve had a chance to watch featuring him so far this season.
Lil’ D’s strength on DJ Tambe’s team probably will just be his steadiness. He’s not someone who comes across like he wants to dominate the air time or like he wants to be the biggest ego in the root. This is just someone who wants to go out and do great tattoos at all costs. He wants to fight his way to the end of the competition and win. We don’t see him getting distracted all that much with some of the small stuff.
Away from Ink Master…
Lil’ D can be found at Cap Szumski’s World Famous Timeless Tattoo in Atlanta, and you can see a little bit more of his work just by following him on Instagram. Like with the vast majority of the other artists this season, we’re sure that he will benefit heavily from being a part of the show. With that beard there’s no way anyone will ever forget about him.
