Bring It Back 2018: Should Designated Survivor, Scorpion, Good Behavior, Elementary, or Suits be saved?
Do you want to see some of your favorite shows stay on the air in 2018? Identifying and campaigning for some of them is what our CarterMatt Bring It Back series is all about!
Over the course of the next few days we are going to bring forward some shows that, for one reason or another, are on the bubble of keep it or cancel it. We’ll present you shows in four groups of five, and then have you vote for the one you think deserves another season. The show with the most votes will move on to a final four showdown next week, where the winner will get the title of Bring It Back Champion. The whole focus of this article series is to try and generate positive publicity and buzz for shows that clearly deserve a lot more attention then they’ve been getting. If we can convince a network to “Bring It Back” when it comes to a readers’ favorite show then our work here is done.
Take a look below at the five shows featured today. Voting is open starting now until Thursday, January 18 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time (1:00 p.m. Pacific). That’s when the final four showdown will take place. If you cannot see the poll for some reason and you are on mobile, be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page and click to view the non-AMP version.
Today marks the final day of the Bring It Back first round, and the shows featured are Designated Survivor, Scorpion, Good Behavior, Suits, and Elementary.
Designated Survivor – The Kiefer Sutherland ABC series got off to a strong start back in season 1, but since that time it has shown some significant struggles maintaining an audience. At a certain point having a big star is only going to do so much and we’re clearly nearing that point.
Scorpion – Meanwhile, the CBS crime procedural starring Elyes Gabel and Katharine McPhee has slowly and surely shed viewers over time, leaving it in a place where there is some vulnerability. While we personally do think that it’s going to make it to a season 5, there is no guarantee of a renewal at this point.
Good Behavior – The TNT series was certainly fantastic in terms of its quality in season 2, but for one reason or another it just hasn’t found anywhere near the audience that it deserves. It needs a renewal, but it also probably needs a better lead-in.
Suits – It’s a little strange at this point that we haven’t heard about a season 8 renewal, but a big part of that may just be trying to figure out what the show would look like without Meghan Markle or Patrick J. Adams in the cast. We don’t think that this is strictly a ratings issue, but another season of Suits is still something worth fighting for.
Elementary – Finally, this entry for Elementary is similar to the one that we’ve mapped out already with Timesless in the past round — it still has another season to air! Yet, we include it in this series because there’s obviously still a demand to get more of it beyond the current batch of episodes and you want to get that renewal campaign started early.
