Poldark season 4 filming picking up steam

Poldark season 4 start filming

It’s the new year, and what better way to celebrate that than with some Poldark season 4 filming news?

The best news to kick things off with here is the fact that Poldark season 4 filming has once more, started back up — that in itself is exciting! Filming has been taking place as of late in the Bristol area, which is essential in order to better capture the urban feel of some of what the producers are setting out to do this season. Remember that at the conclusion of Poldark season 3, we saw Ross make the decision to be more actively involved in the world of the government. He’s a man very much interested in making a difference, and understands that one of the best ways in which he can do that is by trying to take a little bit of the power back from the oh-so-vile George Warleggan. He’s charismatic, determined, and a strong leader — he’s far from a perfect man, but he is certainly qualified and knows that there are many who will follow him almost anywhere.

Speaking to the local Bristol Post, a spokesperson for Bottle Yard Studios in the area had the following to say about the state of production on the series:

“Lloyds Amphitheatre has been used as a unit base last night and today … There has been no filming at the actual location. The crew have been filming at three private locations today in Bristol for the next series of Poldark.”

Why are the locations private? Well, the simplest answer to this is that they need to be. This is a series that really thrives first and foremost on the element of surprise — they want to be able to keep viewers on their toes and production realizes that the best way to do that is to constantly keep things under wraps. It’s also easier on production to film when there are fewer distractions floating around out there.

What are you hoping to see from Poldark season 4 filming in 2018? (Hey, maybe you don’t want to see anything from filming so that you are completely surprised when the show picks back up.) Share in the comments below!
