NCIS season 15 episode 12 spoilers: Patrick Labyorteaux returns!

NCIS season 15 episode 12 should be a nice blast from the past for those of you who tuned into JAG so many years ago. Patrick Labyorteaux is back! He will be reprising his role as Bud Roberts, Jr. for an episode called “Dark Secrets,” which marks the first time that he has been a part of the CBS show since the season 14 premiere “Rogue.” Before that episode, though, he hadn’t been featured on NCIS since “Hung Out to Dry,” the second episode of the show (which originally spun off from JAG). Every now and then it’s easy to forget about where NCIS came from just because of how long it’s been on the air. In between getting to see the Bud Roberts character and getting Chegwidden on NCIS: Los Angeles, we do get the sense that the franchise is eager to celebrate more of its history these days.

“Dark Secrets” – After a seemingly happy and successful Navy Lieutenant appears to have taken her own life, Gibbs and the team conduct a thorough investigation, interviewing family and friends from her past and present, on NCIS, Tuesday, Jan. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Patrick Labyorteaux guest stars as JAG Navy Captain Bud Roberts, Jr, who worked with the deceased.

This is an episode that is based by and large on the concept of confronting the past, and in a way that is what makes the return of Labyorteaux so interesting. You’re bringing back an actor who is well-known as a way for the art to imitate the life of the series. It also seems as though this is going to be a really interesting case just in how it could put Gibbs through his paces. Sometimes, we’re okay with an episode that doesn’t have a whole lot of character development if some of the events that unfold around them are interesting. This does seem to be the case here and as a result of that, we’re very excited to watch the story unfold.
