Code Black star Rob Lowe joins Lifetime’s The Bad Seed remake
According to a new report right now coming in courtesy of Deadline, Lowe has signed on to both star and direct in a Lifetime reproduction of the movie. Here he will play the father of a young girl who secretly ends up being evil personified. The longer the story continues, the questions he is going to have. This will be a chance for Lowe to spread some of his wings creatively, albeit in an environment that is very much familiar to him. Lowe had done a number of Lifetime projects in the past and this is only just one of the latest.
As of right now the project is in negotiation with Warner Bros., but if everything pans out we certainly would not be surprised if we end up seeing this Bad Seed remake on the air at some point in 2018. We just have to wait and see whether or not we get the project off of the ground.
As for whether or not this new gig means anything when it comes to the future of Code Black, it doesn’t. This should not lead to any interruption to production, or the ability of Lowe to return to the series in the future. We’re still waiting for Code Black to get an official CBS premiere date. For now, it does not appear as though the show is coming back in the spring, and it is starting to feel as though it could be summer until we see the show again.
All we can hope is that news like this will further incentivize CBS to take advantage of some of the headlines that are out there around Lowe (who stars in the series alongside Marcia Gay Harden) and try to get a premiere date out there.
