Thomas Rhett performing Thanksgiving Halftime show for Cowboys / Chargers game
Every year the Cowboys do their halftime performance at Thanksgiving in conjunction with the Salvation Army; it kicks off a series of giving, though last year it was probably equally notable for now-suspended running back Ezekiel Elliott jumping in one of their famous oversize kettles after scoring a touchdown.
Rhett is known for such hits as “Give Me Some of That” and “It Goes Like This,” and he follows other artists such as Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, Pitbull, Luke Bryan, Selena Gomez, Destiny’s Child, Eric Church, and Keith Urban. While this show has been defined more by country music as of late, they’ve clearly had a wide array of performers highlighted here over the years. Rhett is clearly excited to perform the Halftime Show today — for some more evidence of that, you don’t have to look any further than the post that he shared on social media of his daughters alongside the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.
We anticipate that Rhett will have a chance to perform some of his big hits for a few minutes surrounded by a band — this isn’t going to be the most elaborate halftime show known to mankind but it really doesn’t need to be. The only goal here is just that Thomas delivers some entertainment and gives everyone a reason to watch while eating their turkey.
If you missed it, earlier today Jason Derulo performed a set of some of his own hits during the halftime show for the Detroit Lions versus the Minnesota Vikings. There is one more NFL game coming later on Thursday between the New York Giants and Washington.
