Chicago Fire season 6 episode 9 could have devastating moment

Chicago Fire season 6 episode 9

Chicago Fire season 6 episode 9 is not airing until the new year, but it’s coming back with an episode that may kick you right in the heart.

Why is that? Well, think of it in these terms — something could happen that makes fans very sad. Maybe it’s some relationship drama, or maybe a character’s life is in jeopardy. This is a show that, (perhaps more so than any other within the One Chicago family) likes to make viewers feel things. There are high highs and moments of joy, but then also plenty of low lows and moments in which you’re going to be tearing up.

For proof of something sad coming up, you don’t have to look any further than what executive producer Derek Haas said on Twitter below! To be specific, he claimed that he “might get labeled a monster” after this episode airs. That’s the sort of thing that tends to happen when you give us some sort of devastating twist.

Is it a compliment to be labeled a monster by some of your fans? It may not seem that way at first, but it’s almost a badge of honor in some ways. Look at it this way — it’s validation in some way that fans care so much about your end product and the characters you’ve helped to cultivate. The struggle here is finding a way to execute a devastating twist and still find a way for fans to be happy down the line. Sometimes we don’t think it’s altogether possible — just look at what happened with Leslie Shay. The majority of the time, though, there are ways to turn things around and make fans satisfied. Somehow, someway, we feel like Haas and company will figure out a way to make this episode something that we will never forget.

Chicago Fire season 5 is going to return on NBC with new episodes on Thursday, January 4. At some point early next month, we’re going to have a chance to pass along some more scoop on the show so stay tuned.
