Supergirl season 3 episode 6 preview: A different Melissa Benoist – Chyler Leigh episode

After everything that transpires tonight, Supergirl season 3 episode 6 could be a completely different kind of installment. This episode, entitled “Midvale,” will offer up a chance for Kara and Alex to navigate away from their problems of the present and instead, focus on a little bit on their past. We’re talking here about a past that the two of them share together as opposed to one that Kara had back when she was on Krypton.

ESCAPE DOWN MEMORY LANE – Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) head home to Midvale for a little R&R. While there, Kara recalls a painful memory of a childhood friend’s death and how that traumatic experience brought the Danver sisters closer together. Izabela Vidovic plays Young Kara and Olivia Nikkanen plays Young Alex in flashbacks. Rob Greenlea directed the episode written by Caitlin Parrish and Jess Kardos (#306). Original airdate 11/13/2017.

One of the key words within this synopsis is clearly “escape,” since that is representative of where the two characters are right now. They may be looking for some sort of chance to get away from the life that they have at the moment and could see going back to Midvale as a chance to get some much-needed peace. We do hope that they find it, but the reality here is that there are many other problems that will await them there because these two never get much in the way of peace and quiet.

What’s especially worth noting about Supergirl season 3 episode 6 is that there are only a couple of episodes coming before the big four-part crossover event takes place. Beyond that, season 3 episode 7 (read more about that here) could be the episode that features Samantha becoming her villainous alter ego of Reign. We are already on the path that is going to get us there, and at this point there is nothing else to do other than buckle up and start to prepare for some of the chaos.
