The Flash season 4 spoilers: When is Keiynan Lonsdale returning?
Following the character’s surprising departure last week (a move to find his place and his value after realizing that Team Flash didn’t really need him for the latest mission), we now have confirmation that the character will be back soon. Speaking per TVLine, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that Lonsdale will return for the upcoming seventh episode airing on November 21. He also assured fans that Lonsdale is still a series regular, but reminded everyone that having two speedsters on the show at the same time is difficult:
“It’s difficult having two speedsters on the show, just creatively and financially. There are a lot of times where either Barry had to get knocked out so Wally could save the day, or Wally had to get knocked out so Barry could save the day — and just knocking them out, that costs a lot.
“But Wally is not gone. Wally is not gone, certainly, from the Arrowverse, and he’ll be back on Flash, and more exciting stuff about Wally will be revealed as we move forward.”
The fact that Kreisberg mentions the Arrowverse as opposed to just The Flash does open the door to him appearing on one of the other shows. We’ve certainly heard the fan reaction to wanting him on Legends of Tomorrow, and we do agree that this could be fun. Granted, our concern does remain the same about him being infinitely more over-powered than the rest of that team. We’re just glad that he will be back regardless of whatever show he will be on.
Over the next few weeks, we should get a chance to learn more about what is the main story of this season is going to be — which we feel will involve the team doing everything that they can to track down The Thinker, (the Big Bad for the season). That certainly does not look like it will be easy.
