Arrow season 6 spoilers: When could Willa Holland return?
In a new post on Instagram, Rick Gonzalez (through the show’s official page) posted a photo of himself alongside Willa, who was clearly back on set and enjoying her time with the rest of the cast. Is it possible that this is an old photo put in there in order to throw us off? Possibly, but it makes sense for Thea Queen to reenter the picture by the time we get around to the end of the year for a number of different reasons. For one, it seems as though Holland is contracted to do a similar number of episodes to what we saw from her during season 6, and we kind of like the show’s approach this time around. If they get all of the episodes without Thea out of the way early, that means that they can focus in on the character and her story in the second half of the season. There’s a little less in the way of interruption this way and we do very much appreciate the idea of just getting these stories all in one straight shot.
As for what we’re hoping to see from Thea when she is back on the show, we still wouldn’t be altogether opposed to seeing some sort of relationship play out between her and Wild Dog. There’s a fun dynamic that is already there and given his status within the Mayor’s office the two do spend a little bit of time together already.
Beyond that, we don’t necessarily need to see her be Speedy — we would love to see that side of the character again, but it’s just as interesting to have her be a power player who doesn’t necessarily need a costume to impart some sort of change.
