Poldark season 4 filming: Rebecca Front is now at work!
With that, who doesn’t want to get some confirmation that Rebecca Front is now officially filming the BBC series with Aiden Turner and the rest of the cast? Check out some more of the good news that we’ve got for you today.
Per Front’s own Twitter, she recently completed her first day of work in the UK on the series, which should prove very exciting thanks in part to the role that she is going to play. The actress, known from The Thick of It, War and Peace, and a number of other projects, is going to appear as Lady Whitworth, the other of the notoriously terrible Reverend Osbourne Whitworth. Is Lady Whitworth anywhere near as horrible as her son? There is that old expression that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” and that is something you really should consider going into this season. It would not surprise us even the slightest bit if we were to learn here that this character was just as nasty as the Reverend is. (Granted, we are not writing this with advance knowledge of anything from the books — some viewers out there may have a leg up, but we like to write through the eyes of a TV viewer only.) The biggest things that have been said officially about this character is that she is both powerful and influential. With that, she is poised to make a tremendous impact almost regardless of some of the finer details concerning her.
New episodes of Poldark season 4 are going to continue filming from now until the spring, and one of the things that you can expect in the early going here is some sort of enormous time jump. After all, you do need to remember that the series has quite a bit of ground to cover and they have already recast an important player in Geoffrey Charles. That should offer an indication that they are moving forward years rather than months. Where things get curious here with Lady Whitworth is in learning more about the position that her son may be in coming up. Is he still with Morwenna, and has she found a way to snatch even more power back to the point that he is not really in control of anything? We’re going to keep rooting for her at CarterMatt until the end of time.
As for possible premiere dates…
Remember that Poldark season 4 is going to be coming onto the BBC more than likely in the spring or summer next year. Given that this season is poised to be an episode shorter than the third season there is even less of a reason for us as viewers to have to wait longer for it.
