NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 3 sneak peek: Pride’s new orders
Remember back during the premiere? It was here when Scott Bakula’s character made to strike an agreement in order to return to work. This was a deal that forces him to have to call in here and there when it comes to every single move he makes as a member of the team. It’s great for the sake of preserving justice, but at the same time it’s not the easiest thing in the world on him as a person. If we’ve learned one thing more than any other about Pride, it’s that he is a guy who loves the ability to run free to a certain extent. He doesn’t always love being told what to do and with that, he is going to find having to frequently call in a real chore — he explains to Wade that he’s doing it, but that doesn’t quite mean that he likes it.
At the end of this sneak peek you also get a sense of the latest case at the center of the story — it feels somewhat wrong to refer to this one as “ordinary,” but it is going to feel reasonably similar to the ones that you are accustomed to — there is a car accident at the center of the crime scene, and also a dead body. It at least feels a little more normal in order to get a crime scene on this show as opposed to seeing Pride locked up like he was during this past episode “#1 Fan.”
What makes this case a little bit different from some of the others comes in the form of the details. Just remember, after all, that it looks like someone escaped the scene of the accident, and it’s certainly possible that this person (who Sebastian seems to want to proclaim is the New Orleans version of James Bond) either intended for the accident to happen or was prepared to make a quick escape. It’s an interesting suspect on the run, and it may be challenging to find the apparent responsible party. If they are resourceful enough in order to use a tire as a breathing apparatus you have to think they are resourceful even to hide from the police and the NCIS.
For Pride, his challenge is simple: Finding a way to get justice and stop this man while still towing the lines of what is technically allowed. Given what we’ve come to learn about him, this is not the easiest line in the world for him to straddle.
