NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 3 spoilers: The schedule swap

When you look at some of the NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 3 details below, it makes sense that you’re going to be a little confused. Wasn’t this episode, entitled “Assets,” originally supposed to be the second episode of the season? The answer to that question is “yes.” However, CBS opted to turn things around, presumably as a response to the recent tragedy in Las Vegas. They have done this with a wide array of shows on their schedule and this one is no exception. We applaud CBS for being sensitive to what is going on in the world — because of the procedural nature of this show we have a hard time thinking one way or another that the reversed episode order is really going to change all that much. You’ll probably enjoy “Assets” just as much one way or another.

NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 3 synopsis – “During the murder investigation of a Navy Lieutenant on leave in Los Angeles, the NCIS team uncovers classified surveillance briefs she smuggled into the city that may have been sold to a foreign buyer, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Oct. 15 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/9:00-10:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.”

One of the struggles that we have in talking about this specific episode in advance is rather clear, if for no other reason than that there aren’t many character details handed out. You can assume from the photo above that Deeks and Kensi are going to be working together, but that is something that happens the vast majority of the time these days. It’s almost par for the course at this point that it would be something you’d get an opportunity to see. We just hope that there are some surprises in this episode, or that we see either a location or an interaction between characters that is new and refreshing. Nine seasons in, you do need little wrinkles here and there in order to mix things up more.

As for the promo that aired tonight, it was basically the same one that you had a chance to see last week about the Navy Lieutenant’s murder and the high-profile nature of this case. Let’s just say that this one is going to have more eyeballs on the team than most.
