Did Power season 4 finale ratings set stage nicely for season 5?

Power season 4 finale ratings

How were the Power season 4 finale ratings? Well, let’s just say that some of those episode leaks (previously in the headlines) didn’t hurt the Starz series in the slightest.

“You Can’t Fix This,” which aired this past Sunday night, ended up generating (as a whole) a grand total of 2 million viewers. Not counting repeat airings, streams, and the like, this is the most-watched episode of the summer — the last episode to top it was the season 3 finale, which generated in total just a bit over 2 million. This means, that people who are watching Power are coming back for more.

The Power season 4 finale ratings also prove further that this was impacted on some level by the Game of Thrones episodes airing directly against them. Kudos to Starz for being unflinching in their support of the show, but it’s hard for anyone to compete against Daenerys and her dragons these days.

While we’ve known for this entire season that Power has been renewed for a season 5, there was something very fun about being able to dive into these numbers and see their journey. We are curious to know if some of these ratings are going to continue to rise up as we get into the fifth season, or if this is just where the show is going to end up. We do think that this is a series that could last for however long the producers and the cast want it to. It’s a huge hit with so many stories to tell, but somehow it still doesn’t get the credit it deserves for delivering great episodes with crazy twists and stellar performances. Joseph Sikora and Omari Hardwick are constantly sensational on the show and should be awards-season contenders.

How were Power season 4 ratings as a whole?

Let’s take a minute now and look in terms of the show’s overall performance. This season generated an average of 1.73 million viewers, which is down around 10% from the live+same-day numbers from last season. However, you do have to remember here once more the Game of Thrones competition plus the WIDE array of ways in which people watch TV these days. The reality here is that Power has been the most-watched show on Starz for some time in terms of live viewing, and we’re curious to see if that changes with the launch of Outlander season 3 this fall. We’re not sure how many Power viewers out there are also Outlander viewers, but we hope that you stick around for some of that coverage throughout the fall here at CarterMatt. There are quite a few great stories that are going to be coming up on the site!

Remember that Power season 5 is going to starting in the months to come; once there is a little more news to report on that subject, we’re going to have that for you here.
