Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: Current targets, Jason’s news (day 60, morning)

Big Brother 19

Can you believe we’re at day 60 of the Big Brother 19 game? Time flies when you’re watching people relentlessly bash each other!

Anyway, this morning update is mostly here as a means to discuss some of the current targets in the game, otherwise known as the people who are going to need that Power of Veto necklace later in the day.

Obviously, Mark is the big one. We do think there was a time when the likes of Paul and Head of Household Christmas would have entertained more the possibility of getting him out a little later down the road, but the reality here is that this is a guy who has won his way to safety for four straight evictions now. He’s got two different Temptation Competition wins coupled with two Power of Veto victories. He could easily win his way to the end, especially since nobody’s going to be spending a ton of time with him and he could just spend some of his time studying. We don’t think he’s a whiz like Kevin Martin (who virtually did this towards the end of Big Brother Canada), but he does still have a good bit of skill.

If Mark does win Veto, the big target seems to be Jason of all people, who hadn’t really been that much of a discussion point before this week. Some of it seems to be due to his ability to show that he can win, but Paul also didn’t like him talking with Mark about the possibility of him being backdoored. We also think that Paul doesn’t like that he and Alex are a competitive duo, and that Jason learned via his Head of Household letter than he’s expecting another child back home. This makes him all the more of a jury threat at the end, and Paul seems to want to get to the final five with Christmas, Raven, Josh, and Matt — basically, a bunch of people who have little shot at winning the game. Maybe Christmas stands a slight chance and that’s it of this group.

The Veto Players once again today are going to be critical to determining the course of the rest of the game. We want to see Mark win just for the sake of forcing people wake up and try to play the game. Even if Mark only wins his way to safety for another week or two, there’s still something great that comes out of having the house blow up and leaving people exposed in various places on the chessboard. It also probably benefits Paul if he stays, given that so long as there’s a bigger target in the game, Mark is more protected.

We’ll be back later at the link here with more from the feeds today. Stay tuned, and remember, that link also takes you to our most-recent exclusive interview with executive producer Allison Grodner. (Photo: CBS.)
