Quick Hits: Legends of Tomorrow gets Jes Macallen; The Good Fight season 2, Arrow season 6 news
As first reported by Deadline, Macallen will play the part of Special Agent Ava Sharpe. She works for a secret part of the Federal Government otherwise known as the Time Bureau. Is this Rip Hunter’s new organization? Possibly so! She carries with her a great deal of knowledge about history — she has to, given her job — and believes strongly in her skills. Her ambition stands head and shoulders above her other colleagues. This ambition, however, can lead to ruthlessness every now and then. Friendships and close bonds don’t appear all that high on her priority list.
So what is her ultimate role on the series? Over time, maybe she’ll serve as a love interest, an adversary, or just a thorn in the side of the team. The Legends showcase time and time again a tendency to mess with time and its rules. Sharpe doesn’t sound like someone who appreciates that. Also, her name reminds us of Evelyn Sharp, but a different spelling. Probably just coincidental there.

The Good Fight season 2 casting news!
If you loved The Good Fight season 1, you’ll love all of this info. First and foremost, Audra McDonald will reprise her The Good Wife role of Liz Lawrence, and serve as a series regular! That certainly adds to the show’s overall clout and its reputation of getting legends from the stage.
Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter revealed yesterday that Michael Boatman and Nyambi Nyambi (Julius Cane and Jay Dipersia, respectively) received series-regular promotions of their own. Boatman first appeared years ago on the flagship show; this promotion is certainly due.
The Good Fight season 2 premieres on CBS All Access in 2018. Be prepared to wait a while there. In general, these promotions show the success of the series, even with it airing on the subscription platform.
Arrow season 6 episode title news!
Family serves as one of the biggest themes of season 6, so don’t be shocked that “Next of Kin” is the 6×03 episode title. Co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim revealed the news on Twitter; veterans Speed Weed and Oscar Balderrama wrote the hour. “Next of Kin” of course represents family, and in Oliver’s case, may represent his son William. However, you also must remember that this phrase often refers to a death in the family. After something terrible transpires, the police informs the “next of kin” about the terrible news. There’s a reason to be shaking in your boots on this one.
Arrow, like Legends of Tomorrow, premieres on The CW in the fall.
