The Night Shift season 4 finale: Missy Peregrym, Rachelle Lefevre to appear
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rookie Blue alum Missy Peregrym and Under the Dome actress Rachelle Lefevre are each going to be appearing in the final episode this year and could end up returning for major roles in the event that the show is picked up for a season 5. (Fingers crossed on that, given that this is a show perpetually on the bubble.)
Here’s what we know about the roles:
Peregrym – She will play the part of Reagan, a female ranger who comes to the hospital as a paramedic and eventually forms a testy dynamic with Drew (Brendan Fehr). Even though Rookie Blue is over, this has been a super-busy year for Peregrym. We’ve seen her turn up on such other shows as Hawaii Five-0 and Law & Order: SVU.
Lefevre – Her role is that of Major Natasha Anthony, a new military doctor who will be heading over to the San Antonio Memorial Hospital. There’s always a need for doctors, but there isn’t too much else known about the role as of right now. Rachelle’s credits, beyond the aforementioned CBS series, also include A Gifted Man, Off the Map, and ironically, also a recent episode of SVU over on NBC. (Hey, it’s a show that always attracts super-talented guest stars.)
There are still many stories that we need to get through on The Night Shift before we roll around to the finale, so don’t perceive to know where all of these characters are going to be at the time the installment airs. Heck, TC has yet to even be in San Antonio this season! He spent the first five episodes overseas in Syria, and he’s going to have a good bit that he needs to deal with when he returns.
Big exclusive coming tomorrow
As you may know, Thursday’s new episode is directed by series star Eoin Macken. We recently conducted an interview with him via email about that coupled with anything and everything that is happening with TC. Look for that to be published at around 9:00 a.m. Pacific time (noon Eastern).
