Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: Questioning Alex (day 23, overnight)

day 23

Dear Alex, what in the world are you thinking? It’s a question we’re wondering after watching the Big Brother 19 live feeds tonight.

Let’s start by saying this: We do understand her disdain for Jessica, given that Jessica’s one of the reasons why she went up in the first place week one. Their relationship was super-awkward, given that the two of them both were looking for a certain degree of attention from Cody. Our take is that Cody likes Jessica more as a person, but respects Alex’s game more than he did hers and that caused problems.

However, Cody is gone … and Alex can’t count on there being a Battle Back. She’s Head of Household, and if she has a hope of sticking around in this game, she needs allies. Jessica has no one, so joining forces with her makes a certain degree of sense if you can get on the same page for once. This is what Kevin, Ramses, and Jason have all argued for tonight as she targets potentially a combination like Christmas and Dominique for eviction. Dominique seems to be the person in the wake of the talk-show mess who is in the most trouble, and that makes sense given that her strategy was a little obvious. (If Dominique is on the block, does that mean that she interviews herself on the talk show?)

There’s a chance that Alex just nominates Jessica but targets someone else, but that’s a HUGE risk if she wants her on her side.

Is there merit if Alex does get rid of Jessica this week?

It depends ultimately on how confident that she is that Jason, Kevin, and Ramses will still be on her side, and she can get people like Paul, Christmas, and Josh over to her side in the future. That group would be able to take on Matt / Mark / Raven / Elena / Dominique, but that’s a big if and not altogether guaranteed. She’s going to have a ton to think about this week: She can take a big shot that exposes her and puts a target on her back, or she can do something a little more cautious that allows her to last a few more weeks. The one thing that we’ll say is that small moves aren’t necessarily bad. Think back to when Derrick won his first Head of Household during season 16. He didn’t try to change the game; instead, he just tried to get rid of someone who would make most of the house happy.

Of course, you only have to think back to the past few days to get another example of that in Paul going after Cody. He knew that most people in the house were frustrated with him, and it’d be easy to take him out and then not have a whole lot of blood on his hands.

Come back tomorrow…
