Suits season 7 episode 2 spoilers: Gina Torres returns; Dule Hill arrives

When Suits season 7 episode 2 airs on USA next week, you’re going to see the continuation of everything that transpired in the premiere. Harvey is getting accustomed to running the firm, but the problem there is that not everyone is going to be on board with his specific style of leadership. Not only that, but Mike is going to work further on towing the line between being at the firm and trying to keep some of his work going with the disadvantage. These are people in the midst of adjustments, and it’s going to be some time before they are going to get used to where they are and where they are going.

The title for this upcoming episode is “The Statue,” and alas, we don’t know too much about it at the moment beyond the official synopsis as released already via USA:

Suits season 7 episode 2 synopsis – “Harvey butts heads with his partners over a bold move. Mike pursues a pro bono case with the legal clinic. Donna’s actions raise tough questions at the firm.”

Our hope is that we’re going to get a chance to see over this hour where the chips fall with some of these characters, and that we start to set the table a little bit more for what is coming the remainder of the season. There are, after all, still 15 episodes to go! That’s a lot of time in order to further orchestrate even more change.

We know now that Harvey’s “bold move” is likely either one of two things: Him hiring Donna as senior partner without consulting anyone, or him deciding to date his former therapist without spending a whole lot of time thinking about that either. He’s a guy more decisive than ever in that sense, but there’s a difference between that and being impulsive. We do think that he won’t regret the move with Donna, but with Paula is a very different story since he doesn’t really know her beyond the fact that she was there for him when he needed her emotionally.

Meanwhile, Donna as a partner is going to be interesting to see just because she’s got power to make decisions rather than just offer advice. What will that look like?

Beyond all of this, the promo offers you up a chance to see Dule Hill for the first time on the show as attorney and longtime friend of Harvey’s Alex Williams. The two have some history that they are clearly going to address from here. Meanwhile, you’re also going to have a chance to see Gina Torres coming back. She’s not returning full-time, but she may pop in here and there throughout the season.
