Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: Do Veto Players seal Cody’s fate? (day 18, afternoon)

This week in the Big Brother 19 house is a true test to our patience in a wide array of different ways, starting with the fact that it’s hard to really root for anyone in this current position. We don’t find Cody or Jessica to be fun players — they’re mean, devoid of compassion, and Cody’s just said a number of things that make him incredibly unlikable. Yet, he’s also obviously going home and getting salt poured into every wound. He’s not getting a chance to play in the Veto, he’s a well-established backdoor target, and he’s also stuck in a toad costume alongside both Jessica and Jason. These three are also Have-Nots for the week, just in case you haven’t heard that already.

Also, did we mention that Paul is being cocky like nobody’s business? The comparisons between him and Neda on Big Brother Canada last season continue to be clear. Both got safety early on, got super-confident, and started to bury themselves. Paul doesn’t seem to have the heat on him yet that Neda did, but it’s also early and there’s still some time in which that can happen. Paul is probably better at the game socially than Neda is, but Neda’s far superior strategically — we don’t think she would have made these nominations so complicated, just because we feel like putting Cody and Jessica up would’ve reduced the amount of blood on Paul’s hands.

Veto Players – Joining Paul and the three nominations (Alex, Josh, and Ramses, who nominated himself thanks to the curse) are Elena and Matt. Of the group, Paul clearly wants to try and win it, and the only concern is if Ramses wins it. Why? That means that both Alex and Josh remain on the block, since he’s obviously not going to save himself. Staying up there is a big risk for him, and with him being a big fan we don’t see him actually throwing it when the chips are down like Paul wants him to. (He did tell Christmas and Dominique this afternoon that he’d take off Alex or Josh if we wins, but it’s easy to say that and much harder to do it.)

Beyond all of this, it’s been a fairly quiet morning other than people talking themselves up and Josh doing a decent job making good bonds with Christmas and some other people. It’s amazing how cool he’s being with Paul’s plan; we figured that he would freak out the moment that he got up on the block.

Be sure to come back later!

We’ll have the announcement of the Veto winner later tonight, and to go with that a little more in the way of scoop regarding the vote over at the link here. That is also where you can check out the latest exclusive interview with executive producer Allison Grodner about the week that was in the house. (Photo: CBS.)
