Insecure season 2 trailer: Will Issa Rae and Lawrence get back together?

When we first discovered Insecure on HBO last year it quickly became our favorite show on the planet. It’s funny, it’s smart and above all else it’s very real. The relationship between Issa and Lawrence is a relationship that almost all of us have been in at one point or another and that’s what makes it so relatable. We’ve all made these mistakes, we’ve all faced the same problems and some of us have even dealt with these things in the exact same way and that’s what makes this show so incredibly good.

We were worried that we were going to have to wait a seriously long time to get new episodes after watching that intense cliffhanger of Lawrence walking out on Issa, but Insecure season 2 going to be kicking off July 23 and to help get us ready for what’s going to be coming up the fine folks over at HBO have released a trailer which we have for you below.

When we last saw Issa and Lawrence he had moved out on her and was sleeping with a woman from his bank, and after Issa cheated on him with Daniel, can we really blame him for moving on? With Issa being single now we’re going to see her get back into the dating world and it’s not going to be as much fun as she thinks it is making her miss her relationship with Lawrence even more. That being said, watching Issa trying to date is that it’s going to make for great comedy since one of the things that we like about Issa so much as that she’s fairly awkward – which again makes her so relatable as a character.

After going on a series of stale dates, we’re going to see Issa try to get Lawrence back which is really what we want to see happen. We know that she messed up in the first season by cheating on him with Daniel, but to be fair there were some things that Lawrence was dropping the ball on as well. This season we just want to see them both grow as people and come back together as a stronger couple. It doesn’t have to happen right away, but by the time the end of the season rolls around we’d like to see it happening.

Of course we’re also going to see more of Molly this season who is very funny in her own right. We’ve seen her struggling to find the right man as she’s looking for marriage, kids, and a happy life, but it looks like this season we’re going to see her struggling when it comes to her career. As a lawyer she’s doing great work, so her job isn’t in jeopardy – the problem is going to come up when she learns that she’s making less as a lawyer then someone else who’s a Caucasian man at her work.
