The Flash season 3 finale: Is Grant Gustin leaving?
(Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
In the closing minutes of the episode tonight, Barry Allen chose to occupy the void in the Speed Force, which was created after Jay Garrick was released in order to stop Savitar once and for all. Jay had previously made a sacrifice in order to further ensure that Barry and the rest of his friends lived. With that in mind, clearly he felt like it was time in order to further return the favor. He went into the Speed Force at the request of his “mother,” and he encouraged his friends and his fiancee Iris West to keep fighting the good fight.
Now, let’s return to the subject of Grant. Without him, it’s hard to imagine The Flash. Therefore, it feels odd to say he’s gone for good. Most likely, he will return within the first few episodes of season 4 given everything that he and the team are up against, including the potential Big Bad DeVoe a.k.a. the Thinker. If he was departing, wouldn’t the media have heard something about this in advance? Effectively, this is a finale designed to create some questions, and get people talking from now until the show returns to the air in the fall. It’s effective in that sense, especially since there could be some interesting developments in the time in which Barry is away.
Curiously enough, Barry is not the only character on The Flash currently separate from the time. Caitlin opted to not take the cure to return to her former self, but also didn’t want to be Killer Frost anymore, either. She now has to find herself, and her future status seems to now be unclear. (Danielle Panabaker will almost certainly be returning, as well.)
Other news to know
The Flash season 4 will premiere most likely in October, and based on early details released at upfronts, it appears as though the entire main cast for season 3 will return — including Tom Felton, given that Julian Albert was still around in the closing minutes of the season. While H.R. may be dead, Earth-2 Harrison Wells was around in the closing minutes and seems to be sticking around for the time being.

I think Grant is filming a couple of movies, thats probably the reason for the speed force thing, Have Wally carry the first few episodes until he is able to come back.
