Criminal Minds season 13: What happens next for Reid, Rossi, JJ, more?
Where could the series go with Rossi, Reid, JJ, and some of the other characters? This is what this article is all about! Below are some humble suggestions for where the story could go for some of these characters — there are no spoilers ahead, so have no fear over that!
Rossi – Give him more stories that are geared around his family. It felt like this was more of a focus during season 11, so it would be nice to see that implemented further for him. Since you can’t revisit the serial-killer story this season (said serial killer is dead), how about you bring in a new adversary?
Reid – In between Cat Adams and being in prison and Lindsey, just give Reid a win! Let him have a little more of a low-key season with a new love interest or some new revelations in his personal life that offer him up an opportunity to unwind and relax a little more. The guy simply deserves it at this point in the run.
JJ – Have her run point on some more cases, and put her more at the forefront of the action. Out of the main cast, JJ seemed to be in the spotlight less than anyone.
Emily Prentiss – Connect more of her past to her present. There is so much known about her, but despite turning up this season in a regular capacity, the writers didn’t touch too much on where she came from. Give us more of her past, and maybe her time away from the BAU.
Garcia – Take Morgan’s advice to heart and start being nicer to Luke. There’d be something very fun and ironic about the two becoming great friends this coming season after spending much of season 12 at odds.
Luke – This is simply all about learning more of who he is, what he wants out of life, and more of the people in his social circles. Beyond that, take advantage of his physique so that there are some great action sequences!
Stephen – It feels as though he’s still green, but he’s shown to be accomplished and very adept at what he does. The more that the show can emphasize this, the better off it will be. There’s also something appealing about Walker having this vast network of contacts, and that he can be the guy who has “a guy” for almost everything.
