Arrow season 5 finale spoilers: Slade Wilson, Oliver Queen team up!

Slade Wilson

It’s no secret at this point that Slade Wilson, Nyssa al Ghul, and Black Siren are all going to be key components in the Arrow season 5 finale. What may be, however, is the manner in which they are all going to be involved in the story.

Today, what we’ve got for you are some of the first confirmed details from the May 24 episode, which will both cap off the Prometheus arc and set the stage for whatever season 6 may be. Here’s the crazy thing, though — you could easily call this season finale a series finale, and nobody would probably raise an eyebrow, given that this story, set around the island of Liam Yu, feels like a culmination of the entire story to date.

Let’s go ahead and get now to sharing the synopsis:

“The battle between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) culminates in a final epic battle on Lian Yu. After recent events, Oliver decides to recruit a group of unlikely allies – Slade (guest star Manu Bennett), Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law), Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Digger Harkness (guest star Nick. E. Tarabay) – to defeat Chase. However, Chase has his own army – Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy), Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin) and Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig) – and the forces collide in an explosive season finale.”

Showrunners Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle co-wrote this episode, and it was directed by Jesse Warn. What we’re trying to say here is that this could end up being a game-changing episode like no other; they’ve got the best people on it!

If you are looking for some potential loose ends following this episode, remember that technically, Vigilante is still out there and is someone that the show is going to be revisiting in the future. At the same time, it’s not clear what the status of Oliver and Felicity is going to be by the end of the episode, and you also have to think for a moment or two about where things will stand with Wild Dog and his daughter. (We’d love to see Rory back in the finale, but that doesn’t appear to be happening — a shame given Ragman’s impact in the early going this season.)
