Is Empire new tonight on Fox? More on Snoop Dogg’s season 3 spot
Alas, you’re going to be waiting for a week to see the show return to the air. Fox is taking tonight off, at least in terms of airing a new episode. (There will be a repeat on instead.) We don’t completely get the logic — we understand wanting to save episodes for May sweeps, but is it really worth that when you are going to have to annoy people tonight with a repeat? Didn’t we already get enough of a hiatus with this show already? It’s pretty easy to make the argument.
Now that we’ve got all of that out of the way … let’s talk about the rest of the season. We feel like we’ve already shared plenty of details about the show’s return to Fox next week, so instead here let’s do our best to try and chronicle more of what’s coming later this season … including a May 3 appearance from Snoop Dogg as himself! We don’t have too much more to say about his appearance (it’s too bad Martha Stewart is not appearing with him), but we can hand down a few details regarding the rest of the season:
“Angelo’s relationship with Cookie turns toxic and leaves her questioning her decisions. Hakeem makes a public plea for Lucious to give him paternity of Bella during his return to Empire Xstream. Meanwhile, Cookie becomes increasingly more suspicious of Lucious’ intentions with Giuliana and Empire’s future in Vegas, and Lucious and Jamal work overtime to finish their albums.”
Will Angelo still be around at the end of this season? If we were to draw a parallel between this character and another on TV, it is Jeffrey Mace / the Patriot over on Agents of SHIELD. We thought that both were going to be temporary guest spots, and both stuck around far longer than we initially thought that they would. (In the case of Taye Diggs here, things probably would have changed had Murder in the First been renewed for another season.)
Once there’s a little more to share in this episode, rest assured that we’ll have some of that over at the link here.
